Clifton is perhaps the most beautiful area of Bristol and has plenty for you to do and see there. Home of the university and famous for its architecture, you have both the shopping areas of Clifton Village and Whiteladies Rd., as well as picturesque tourist spots such as Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Zoo, Avon Gorge and the Downs, Bristol's number one picnic area.
Bristol, 2015's Green capital, has an extensive city centre which combines the shopping areas of Broadmead and the newer, Cabot Circus, with a Harbourside area of bars, restaurants, art centres, museums and boat trips. If you like nightlife, you might consider the attractions of Park St. and King St.as well.
Being one of the UK's largest cities, Bristol is home to some major and unique festivals. July sees the harbourside, a celebration of maritime activity, air displays, local music and a fascinating variety of market stalls, while the August skies find themselves filled with balloons of all shapes, sizes and colours during the Balloon festival. You may also bear in mind the urban paint festival, Upfest, where grafitti artists from all over the world come to demonstrate their skills.
